Jurong Bird Park is a massive aviary and one of the largest bird parks in the world, featuring 8,000 birds of more than 600 species with exotic birds like macaws, spoonbills, flamingos etc. It is currently the world’s largest bird park in terms of number of birds and second largest in terms of land area after Germany’s Vogelpark Walsrode

Jurong Bird Park was founded in 1971 and is managed by Wildlife Reserves Singapore. Jurong Bird Park is one of Singapore’s great family attractions, situated on the scenic Jurong Hill.
Jurong Bird Park is spread over an area of about 200,000 sq m and is a paradise for birdwatchers, with a slew of specialties such as the African Waterfall Aviary, the Jungle Jewels Flight Aviary, the Lory Loft and the Southeast Asian Birds Aviary.

Jurong is also home to Lory Loft, it’s the largest of its kind in the world, and here you’ll come across more than 1,000 free-flying, beautiful lories.
Park is split into various sections like The Hornbills and Toucans Exhibit, Parrot Paradise, Pelican Cove , Royal Ramble houses endangered crowned pigeons , Swan Lake etc

Jurong Bird Park also offers several shows and activities designed to entertain guests of all ages, it also has a guided tram to carry visitors around the park. One of the major free show attractions is the High Flyers Show and King of the Skies. There are also Penguin Feeding shows. The park begins their activities (such as feeding sessions and shows) as early as 10 am, so better go early if you don’t want to miss anything.

Don’t also miss out on the bird feeding opportunity. The park definitely has a great collection of birds. You’ll have a lot of fun feeding the lories ($3 for one small cup of food for the birds),

Jurong Bird Park is located far from Singapore Zoo and Night Safari, and some sites advise to schedule your visit on a different day for the Zoo in case you bought a park hopper ticket. But in all fairness, we got in early when the bird park opened and finished the major attractions by 1 pm and headed out to zoo, so it is doable within half a day especially if you are on a tight timeline on your Singapore visit.
The park sits in the western part of the island, and travelers will need to take a bus from the Boon Lay MRT Station or transfer buses once if they plan to take public transportation. Go on the East West line to Boon Lay station/bus interchange and hop on bus 194 to Jurong Bird Park.
Location: 2 Jurong Hill, 628925, Singapore
Open: Daily from 8.30am to 6pm

Burrough mountain trail offers spectacular view of Mt Rainier and Emmons Glacier. We do make sure to get couple of trails in the Mt Rainier area every year, and we like to share our pictures and memories from each of our hikes. This one is from a summer starter hike in July couple of days after the road opened till Sunrise visitor center. Snow had almost melted but please check the trail conditions with rangers before heading out. We had to use our microspikes to cross some steep snowfields while crossing the mountain slopes. Something like the Kahtoola MICROspikes Footwear Traction are essential for trails like these.
